Festival Fun With Blues & Soul's The 40 Essential DJs Of The Past 40 Years Poll!
Yes, it's that time of the year, i.e. end of the year, when all sorts of polls are published. One of the best ones is definitely Blues & Soul's The 40 Essential DJs Of The Past 40 Years Poll! Blues & Soul (now an online mag) lists the 40 most influential DJs on the British black music scene! Check it out, and you're welcome to leave your comments.

As with any any poll, it's not perfect, in that there will be some omissions or questionable entries. If you're over 30, then many of the DJ in this poll will mean something to you - so go ahead and have some fun looking down the rundown list, and then for full details go to: www.bluesandsoul.com/feature/226/the_40_essential.

I hope it will be a source of yuletide debate! Personally, I think Northern Soul champion Ian Dewhirst, who went on to helm the Mastercuts compilation series, should have been in there!
